Another case of Vault Tech being the worst people of all time, Vault 75 was designed as a way for the company to create a race of perfect humans for a post-war world. Hidden underneath a nearby elementary school, the vault was supposed to be a sanctuary for the children, parents and teachers in attendance - however, as soon as the bombs fell all the adults were swiftly taken aside and murdered, leaving the children to grow up alone with the help of a select few scientists. The plan was simple: weed out the weak links and alter the genetics of the survivors through a series of experiments, rinse and repeat until the tests were complete. That's not it though, while this was happening the children were also being brainwashed into hating those who survived the war on the surface above, being indoctrinated into a cult that justified the killings of kids. Of course, weeding out the now-teens proved to be a fruitless exercise, and the remaining survivors knew that the experimenters were never going to be 100% successful, surmising that the scientists would eventually sacrifice everyone in the vault. The remaining few rebelled, turning against their captors and destroying much of the vault in the process, rising to the surface in an attempt to win back whatever semblance of freedom they had left.
