Second Quest is more of a challenge than a cheat but you sort of have to cheat to get to it to attain the glory of completing Second Quest so it's kind of worthy of a place on the list. Names are usually one of the simplest ways to cheat in an RPG and The Legend of Zelda was probably one of the first to utilize this feature. By naming your character at the start screen "Zelda" the game layout and dungeons would be different which would allow you to play, what was effectively, a Second Quest. Second Quest was different from the main Legend of Zelda game because the layout for the overworld and dungeons were different, as they would usually include multiple bosses for the player to fight. The items acquired would also be slightly different to match with everything else. Second Quest was put in intentionally by the designer Takashi Tezuka, but was actually a mistake. In the first draft of The Legend of Zelda only half of the available data was used in the game and rather than redoing the game entirely Shigeru Miyamoto suggested that the other half be made into Second Quest to feature the rest of the content. Not much of a cheat but The Legend of Zelda is a classic game and boasting that you'd completed the Second Quest could only be done through this "cheat" so let's leave it on the list.
