10 Dead Video Game Franchises That Need To Return
6. Bully
Rockstar Games have become one of the most successful developers in all of gaming. With their smash hit franchises Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, they have captivated gamers everywhere with engrossing single player stories and massive multiplayer modes.
Once upon a time, it looked as it Bully would become one of these ongoing franchises for Rockstar. The game released in 2006 for the PlayStation and was met with controversy, propelling the game into the public eye with parents and educators concerned over the game's themes and content. Bully was actually banned in Brazil, and some retailers in the UK refused to stock it.
Despite all of this, Bully sold very well and received excellent reviews from both critics and fans. This seemingly cemented the game as a future franchise for Rockstar but seemingly a sequel that was in development was eventually cancelled.
In today's political climate, Bully 2 could be difficult to pull off. If done in a smart and innovative manner, there is no reason it could not be a success however. With Rockstar hard at work on GTA 6, it is hard to see where the developers will have time to explore a follow-up.
