10 Deadliest Enemies In Fallout History

3. Legate Lanius - Fallout: New Vegas

While the Legion and its depraved followers might all be bending the knee and hailing Ceaser long into the night, every true Wastelander worth his irradiated salt knows that Edward Sallow is but a voice that breaths life into the might of his military force, and is hardly a challenging opponent in a one on one battle.

If you're looking for the muscle that drives the Legion then you're looking to speak to Legate Lanius as the man is called The Monster From The East for a bloody good reason. The man is a literal mountain, standing at 6ft 11 in-game, and hits harder than The Great Depression, but more than this he's actually pretty bloody smart.

The battle has several scripted sections which will mix things up from the usual "I'm gonna turn you into base elements with my bare hands" method, with him dosing on healing powder, falling back, and turning off hostility so that your allies can't attack him, restoring his limb condition to 100%, and cannot be disarmed by the player attacking his arm.

This makes for easily the most challenging battle in New Vegas, and reflects the tactical superiority of the man who helped the Legion win so many key victories.
