10 Delayed Video Games You Can Finally Play In 2016
2. No Mans Sky
I'm calling it now; No Man's Sky will end up on somebody's 'most disappointing games' list for 2016 - the levels of hype and the fluctuation within of player expectation versus what the game actually is (and always has been) are pretty ludicrous. Hello Games' founder Sean Murray has mentioned multiple times that they're not creating 'Minecraft in space', yet if he were to mention such a label, suddenly that's how all the media outlets would describe NMS. Instead, it's a title built to scratch the same exploratory "What's over there?" itch you've had in everything from Morrowind to Metal Gear Solid V. You'll venture out across the cosmos, categorise all sorts of creatures and upgrade your ship's lasers to raid convoys and buy new FTL drives. You'll travel deeper and deeper into the void, mod weapons and have very occasional dogfights with other players, but the main draw? It's in a procedurally-generated universe built from the ground up with the most scientific mindset around; just to see if it can be done.
