10 Deleted Video Game Scenes You Need To See

5. Tomb Raider: Underworld - Deleted Ending

The more recent Tomb Raider trilogy has explored Lara Croft to a deeper extent, allowing a darker look into her origins and provided some gritty and grounded adventures for the ever popular gaming icon.

They deal with pivotal moments, such as Lara's first kill and a descent into her families legacy. It's an entertaining trilogy, but never managed to fully push Lara to her limits that it initially promised.

However, an alternate ending to Tomb Raider: Underworld buried an alternate ending into its data that was found after release. It was the ending of a feud between Lara and her old friend, Amanda, who had betrayed many before this point.

This ending saw Lara shooting at Amanda after she again, attempted to kill her. With a gun shot wound that proved fatal if left untreated, Lara is then seen leaving her old friend to the harsh landscape, presumably, to die.

It's a much darker tone for the character that clashed with the rest of the series up until that point. While Lara has killed many, it had never been portrayed as merciless as this. Regardless, it's definitely a dark take that hopefully a future iteration explores in the right way in the future.
