10 Devastating Emotional Video Game Moments That Came Out Of Nowhere
6. The End - Skyrim
Skyrim was a one of kind experience. At the time it came out, there was nothing like it. Sure, Oblivion and Morrowind existed, but they didn't grace the refinement and overall feel that Skyrim had.
It was the fantasy adventure that everyone always wanted. It fulfilled those childhood dreams of venturing across a fantasy realm as the chosen one, destined to stay the end of the world and be the hero. It was - and still is - great.
That said, everyone remembers the first time they finished it.
Realising that you had done it, saved the world, finished the main questline and a half-dozen guild questlines. You'd finished SKYRIM. Everyone remembers that soul-crushing void as you looked around at the world and felt empty.
You had done all the game could offer, and there was an overwhelming emotional void of not knowing what to do with yourself.
It captured what it must be like to the hero at the end of the story, to fulfil your purpose and have no idea what to do next. It wasn't emotional because someone died or there was a travesty, it was emotional, because it was over. Anyone who has played Skyrim can attest to that.
