4. Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite

With the superhero genre at an all-time high during the 2010s, releasing another Marvel vs Capcom game felt like a smart move.

But when the trailer for MvC: Infinite was released, longtime fans immediately knew something was wrong. Despite advertising MCU heavy-hitters like Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk, the teaser didn't show anyone associated with the X-Men or Fantastic Four.

It's suspected that this omission is connected to Marvel's dispute with 20th Century Fox over who owned the rights to the characters. Although this explanation was never verified, it seemed likely (Why else would they remove fan-favourite, Wolverine?)

If the higher-ups excluded beloved fighters like Jean Grey, Magneto and Dr. Doom out of spite, they shouldn't have bothered making the game in the first place.

Sadly, this unwise decision was just the tip of the iceberg. Due to dumbed down mechanics, stiff character design and placeholder graphics, every aspect of Infinite felt sloppy. It also seemed rushed, since the roster was smaller than the previous two instalments.

In many ways, MvC: Infinite could've been the best in the series. Instead, this entry is directly responsible for leaving the crossover's reputation in tatters.
