10 Disastrous Video Game Sequels That Forgot What Fans Want
3. Metal Gear Survive
This strange game might be one of the biggest shock announcement of 2017. After Hideo Kojima parted ways with Konami, we all thought the last game with the title Metal Gear was The Phantom Pain. Then Survive reared its ugly head out of the now health club-focused company.
What might come as more of a shock is how terrible the setup is. "What if - just after the events of Ground Zeroes - a giant wormhole opened up, sucking all the soldiers inside, and then dumping them in another dimension??"
Even Kojima would've backed away slowly.
From here, Metal Gear Survive, for the most part, is turned into a glorified tower defence game in where players are given a sharp stick to poke zombies through a fence. All this with punishing survival game mechanics sprinkled on top made for a less than desirable experience.
Oh, and most infuriating of all, Konami charged real money for an additional save slot.
Yes, really.
