10 Divisive Video Games That Are Secretly The Best Entry
10. Star Wars Battlefront 2
At launch it was a laughing stock; the poster boy for everything wrong with the gaming industry across the second half of the 2010s. And whilst there were still some highlights like the new Starfighter Assault mode and a fun enough campaign to blast through, the amount of sheer negativity that surrounded Battlefront 2 tanked sales, saw it the centre of a political storm about child gambling, and made millions of us look the other way.
Going forward though - and we're now in the game's third year of support - DICE have turned this thing around in a way not too dissimilar to No Man's Sky.
By focusing on free content updates, completely overhauling the progression system to remove paying for anything if you don't want to, and highlighting those exquisite large-scale battles, Battlefront 2 is EASILY the best Star Wars Battlefront game by a considerable margin.
Now comprising characters, voice casts, levels and costumes from all three main trilogies and the Clone Wars, if it wasn't for the first KOTOR, this would be the best Star Wars game, period.
