One of the biggest rules of the Doctor Who brand is that, on the whole, it needs to be family friendly (not counting the New Adventures novels and Torchwood of course). Which means that a Doctor Who equivalent of Halo and its ilk is very unlikely. Which is a shame since Doctor Who has a lot of characters that would perfectly suit an FPS such as River Song, Commander Strax, and Captain Jack Harkness. Each of them (and a number of other characters) has the strength of character to head up their own FPS title and the moral ambiguity that means featuring them gunning down everything in sight wont be damaging to the characters as they exist in the programme. And theres a lot of room for solo adventures with these characters since theyve been established to spend a lot of time away from the Doctor, and lead lives fraught with danger and sometimes violence. A River Song FPS could be an archaeology expedition that ends up as a fight for survival while a Jack Harkness shooter could be anything from his days as a conman to the decades he spends working with Torchwood. Or just go the whole hog and do a Torchwood FPS. Then it could be as violent as the makers want without hurting Doctor Who. Its a genre with potential so long as the BBC steels itself to do something directly associated with Doctor Who thats not consciously marketed at all ages.
