10 Doctor Who Video Games That Must Be Made

3. A Platform Game

Depending on your definition of a platform game, this has only been done once with 1992€™s Dalek Attack for the PC. A game which completely missed the point of Doctor Who by largely consisting of the Seventh Doctor killing things with the Sonic Screwdriver (which inexplicably fires lasers) and grenades. So after twenty-two years of nothing but the Seventh Doctor going all Rambo, the time€™s right for another Doctor Who platform game. It€™s actually surprising that the platform genre is so consistently overlooked for Doctor Who since it would be seem to be a perfect fit. The gameplay€™s simplistic enough to appeal to all ages, the colour palettes are usually bright and friendly, and (depending on how its stylised) nobody dies. With platform graphics long having evolved since the basic side-scrollers of yesteryear, it would be interesting to see the Doctor release his inner Mario. If it was another free-to play release like the Adventure Games, the BBC would be able to release new levels at their own pace (maybe one for each new episode) and focus on putting it out as a fun little extra for the fans rather than concentrating on sales figures and ending up with more mediocre fare like Evacuation Earth for the Nintendo DS, or another Dalek Attack that has almost nothing in common with Doctor Who apart from character design.
