Nearing the climax of Batman: Arkham City, the Gotham knight finds himself at odds with Mister Freeze. Being the world's greatest detective, Bats quickly deduces 12 methods to defeat his old foe, such as performing a ledge takedown, disrupting his Ice Gun, or breaking through a wall with a surprise attack.

First-timers try to figure out the simplest takedown, hoping to use it over and over until Freeze is defeated.

Unfortunately, this plan won't work, since the literally chilling villain makes sure Batman can't harm him the same way twice. If Freeze is immobilised by the electromagnet, he'll destroy it. After striking him from the grating below, the callous cryogeneticist rips it off.

To put the king of ice puns down for good, the caped crusader needs to come at him with everything he's got. At first, players are disappointed to learn of Freeze's counter-measures, since it makes the battle far longer and harder than it needs to be.

But in many ways, this sub-zero scoundrel is the best kind of adversary. Bosses should test the player by forcing them to implement every technique they've mastered up until that point. When phrased like that, it's difficult to think of boss that pushes the player as much as Mister Freeze.
