10 Dumbest Video Game Costumes We Absolutely LOVE
8. Ashley - Knight Armour (Resident Evil 4)
Most bonus or unlockable costumes normally serve little to no purpose in-game, other than to look awesome and/or ridiculously.
Mercifully, Ashley's full suit of armour in Resident Evil 4 does defy convention and actually benefit you in the long run. For you see, and I'm not going to sugarcoat this, escorting the president's daughter is a right royal pain in the proverbial.
Hearing "Leon!" as she's slung over a kidnapper's shoulder is tantamount to nails on a chalkboard. Sadly, you need her, so you can't let them steal her.
Do not despair though, as her accompanying suit change to Leon's gangster outfit has a practical function too. It renders her both invulnerable and she can't be picked up. It also makes us sympathise for Leon when he has to catch her from ledge drops.
But considering the lengths you have to go through to keep her alive, this is a blessing in costumed disguise. It makes professional difficulty much easier if you only have yourself to worry about.
And if you feel like venting, she doesn't crouch when you aim at her, so you can bounce as many rounds off of her as you like.
