2. Flappy Bird

Does this entry even need explaining? While it's prevalence in the media only lasted about a week, Flappy Bird has become a staple of mobile games and the titular Flappy Bird is one of the most recognised mobile game icons. Flappy Bird really did take the world by storm, despite being the most simple experience on this list. You have one ability, flapping, and there's only one obstacle. Yet people couldn't get enough of it.

Even more impressive is the fact that the developer, Dong Nguyen, made the game in just a few days but at the peak of its popularity he was making an estimated £50,000 a day in advertisements. It was taken off the app store in February of 2014 as Nguyen felt guilty over the addictive nature of the game and how he was profiting off of it. But it was so popular that people started to sell IPhones that still had the game installed on Ebay for extortionate prices!

Despite its short time in the spotlight, Flappy Bird will go down as one of the most memorable mobile games. If you missed out on it back in the day, you can find it online quite easily these days.
