10 Most Enjoyable Set-Pieces In The Uncharted Trilogy
4. Re-Enacting The Living Daylights (U3)
The first of the two James Bond films starring Timothy Dalton (arguably the greatest Bond), The Living Daylights is a highly underrated feature. One of its key set-pieces occurs during its action-packed finale, when Bond and Necros, a henchman of the villainous Russian General Koskov, find themselves hanging out of the back of an open plane mid-flight in Afghanistan, clinging perilously to cargo and netting that is attached to fixtures within the plane itself. Uncharted 3 pays an amazing homage to this set-piece, letting players channel Bond through the medium of Drake. He sneaks aboard a plane and engages in a fistfight with an assailant under Katherine Marlowe's employ, which results in the plane door being opened and forces him to climb back in and attempt to keep it airborne. This is a futile action, as the plane begins to plummet to the ground, prompting Drake to make a hasty and exciting getaway atop of a parachute-laden cargo crate (in contrast to 007, who made a getaway by jeep).
