6. Evolve
After invading just about every industry event of 2014, Evolve is finally here to unleash multiplayer monster killing on the world. Evolve is an asymmetric shooter, pitting a team of four hunters against a single monster. In the space of a single game, the monster will initially attempt to stay out the way of the hunters. However, by eating the neutral creatures scattered around the map, the monster will eventually become powerful enough to take on and kill all hunters on its own. The hunters must therefore use teamwork and synergise their unique abilities in order to bring the beast down quickly - there's no lone wolfing in this game. Evolve hasn't quite met the lofty expectations that have been building since its announcement all those years ago, primarily thanks to the aggressive DLC and lack of content in the base game. Regardless, Evolve is still a refreshingly original multiplayer experience for anyone that can assemble a reliable group of friends to play with.
