9. Dishonored - The Knife Of Dunwall

Either of Dishonored’s excellent story DLCs could have occupied this spot, as both ingeniously tell the story of the assassin Daud following the assassination of the Empress.

While the main game sees the Empress’ bodyguard, Corvo Attano, eliminate those responsible for the Empress’ murder, the DLC follows assassin Daud as he looks to atone for his involvement by searching for the mysterious Delilah.

The events culminate with the conclusion of the main game, although this time you get to experience them from Daud’s point of view, albeit with a fresh perspective on his involvement in the assassination.

While both DLCs are excellent, the first story DLC, Knife of Dunwall, just pips its sibling as it provides some excellent backstory and depth to Daud, as he comes to terms with what he did. Daud is a complex character that turns out to be more than just the assassin-for-hire even displaying remorse and guilt for his involvement in the assassination.

The gameplay remains unchanged from the base game, however, the story is really the star of the show here and it really shines. Ultimately, The Knife of Dunwall gives players more Dishonored but with a fresh and interesting take on the story, while also setting things up nicely for Dishonored 2.
