10 Essential Video Game DLC Packs
7. Grand Theft Auto IV - The Ballad of Gay Tony
The Grand Theft Auto series has always taken a tongue-in-cheek approach to storytelling, however for the most part GTA IV’s story took a much more gritty and sombre approach with the tale of Niko Bellic. The second and final story DLC, however, went back to the over-the-top and quirky characters that fans came to love.
The Ballad of Gay Tony put players in the shoes of Luis Lopez, a club manager that gets embroiled in the events that take place throughout the narrative of the base game and the other piece of story DLC, The Lost and Damned. The story focuses on a missing shipment of diamonds, providing closure on something that was touched upon in the main game and the Lost and Damned.
The DLC is perhaps the best that GTA IV has to offer and gives fans the quintessential GTA experience that the main campaign arguably lacked. The cast of characters involved in the DLC outshone the majority of those that featured throughout the main experience and even the returning characters were often portrayed in a much more entertaining fashion. Overall, The Ballad of Gay Tony gave fans what they were expecting when GTA IV was released.
