10 Fan-Made Video Game Remakes That Were Better Than The Original
4. The Dark Mod (Thief)
If you were like the many fans who played the 2014 Thief reboot, chances are that you walked away from that experience feeling pretty bummed out and disappointed. Well, don't be disappointed any longer, as there's a fan remake out there that's way better than what that reboot served up. Using the still-impressive Doom III game engine, The Dark Mod was originally going to be a some sort of massive Thief-esque toolkit mod for that game. With a library of impressively crafted models, sounds, AI, art, tools, and a specialised editor, The Dark Mod allows players to essentially come up with their own missions and levels before sharing them around. This went over so well with the community that the fan developers decided to update The Dark Mod into standalone game, featuring a campaign and numerous fan-made missions.
My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem.
Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh.
