10 Fanboy Reasons To Be Excited About Hitman

It's almost time to plonk down your (blood) money...

There's nothing quite like sneaking about in video games, is there? Hitman games have a long tradition - on both PC and consoles - of delivering a well-rounded sneaky experience to players. In the earlier titles, it wasn't uncommon to trade stories with friends over select missions, because almost everyone had their own methods that worked for them. That key element of variety was stripped from the core experience in Hitman: Absolution. The 2012 release had its moments, but failed to deliver what fans of the series craved. Some levels - such as the opening attack on Diana Burnwood's mansion - promised so much, but for every one of those there were hollow missions such as evading a police helicopter. Much of Absolution was entrenched in the idea of constantly pushing forward and even big action set pieces. That's not what many people who are fond of the Hitman games want, they desire open-ended sandboxes that beg to be explored. 2016's Hitman looks set to be a love letter from developers IO Interactive to those who remember the glory days of the franchise. So, why should you be excited? This article details exactly why anticipation is building up to that March 11 release. Check the corners and don't forget to hide the bodies, Agent 47 is back in style.
