10 Fantastic Open-World Video Games Coming In 2015

8. Assassin's Creed: Victory

This is it, the year where Ubisoft either completely buries Assassin's Creed or manages to Lazarus Pit-themselves another Black Flag, as following AC III nobody expected their pirate-themed spin-off to be anything less than a dud, making for quite the surprise when it was actually great fun. Still, the elements that made BF such a treat - the swashbuckling combat, ship-stealing and base-capturing - arguably have no place in an Assassin's Creed game, and thus last year's Unity attempted to return the series to its roots, putting the emphasis back on stalking your prey and delivering a hidden-bladed kill at just the right moment. The problem, was that it was a hot mess the likes of which even a discarded banana peel left out to soak on a sizzling Spanish afternoon couldn't match up to. For Victory, Ubi are taking the series to England, setting it in Victorian London (see what they did?), hopefully learning their lesson along the way as to what's needed to make a solid, fresh and above-all fun game in 2015. Do you want a solid AC title, or even if they could deliver something serviceable should the series take a break regardless?
