10 Fatal Issues That Could Kill Destiny 2

7. Exotics Are Too Tame

Destiny 2 Raid
Bungie

No piece of gear should be the be-all and end-all slot-filler that Destiny's original Gjallarhorn was, but that doesn't mean they have to be as plain as a sheet of paper either.

Bungie's made a big push to ensure Destiny 2's first year in service isn't mired by the terrible imbalance that plagued the first game, but in doing so has reduced the feeling of excitement from obtaining the series' rarest and most sought-after loot to naught but indifference.

It's not a universal truth; Wardcliff Coil and Merciless stand out as Exotics worth hunting for, but they're outnumbered by chaff. Fighting Lion, in particular, is utterly useless and unworthy of being called an Exotic, let alone a weapon meant to actually cause harm to another being. Others, like Rat King and Vigilance Wing, have a cool-sounding design philosophy behind them, but in practice, they're outgunned by near-to every existing Legendary.

We've come to the point, now, where players aren't hunting Exotics for their superior firepower or unique perks, but for Infusion fodder to bolster the power of their existing loadouts.

We're all for unique, zany weapons, Bungie, but would it be so much to ask that they're actually effective at doing their job?
