10 Fatal Issues That Could Kill Destiny 2

6. Uniformity Doesn't Work

Destiny 2 Raid
Bungie

In Destiny 2, you're not a celebrated Guardian of Earth, but a dog - conditioned to do your masters' bidding with the promise of being awarded for your compliance. In this thinly-veiled metaphor, the doggie treat is a token to be taken to its relevant vendor and gambled away for loot.

Okay, so what's the problem?

On the whole, nothing, but it doesn't work as the catch-all system that Bungie intended it to be. Any item, whether it be a weapon or armor piece, obtained in this manner comes at a Power Level no higher than your current maximum, it exists to offer variety in customization, and that's good.

What isn't good, is a copy and paste of the exact same system for Destiny 2's endgame Raid. Not only does receiving pieces of branded metal for completing each tough encounter feel wholly unsatisfying, but trading them in does nothing to empower your Guardian, begging the question of what's the point?

Destroying faux-Calus at the end of Leviathan awards one - yes, one - piece of gear above your Power Level. For comparison, Destiny's Raids guaranteed you a piece of powerful loot from every major encounter, making repeated full runs consistently rewarding.

There's a simple fix. Revert the system back to how it was in the original game.
