10 Fatal Issues That Could Kill Destiny 2

4. Counterintuitive Social Grouping

Destiny 2 Raid
Bungie

For an experience that's so clearly meant to be enjoyed to its fullest with a group of friends in tow, Destiny 2 doesn't help to facilitate co-operative play one bit. Strikes, Raids and the Crucible are the three core pillars of the sequel's holy gameplay trinity, but they all have different size restrictions.

That's fine if your Fireteam needs to upsize in order to tackle the Leviathan raid, but Calus and his gauntlet of challenges won't hold your interest indefinitely. Win or lose, you and your comrades will have other fish to fry before getting some shut-eye for the night. But not together, that's not allowed.

Strikes and/or Patrol are the fairest method: a six-man Raid team can be split evenly down the middle for either of those, but Crucible? Sorry, but you'll have to sack two friends from the squad for that one.

Neither situation is ideal, and it's not clear if Bungie even has the means to remedy the problem. Crucible could, of course, be reverted to allow 6v6 matches (should have been available anyway), but consoles already suffer from performance dips in Public Events with but a handful of players present.

For now, we'll just have to put a pin in the issue and wait for an official response from the horse's mouth.
