10 Fatal Issues That Could Kill Destiny 2

2. Watered-Down Crucible

Destiny 2 Raid
Bungie

Sequels are meant to add new features, Bungie, not take them away.

There's no sugar-coating it, the Crucible has been gutted in Destiny 2, its once feature-rich model stripped to the bone and distorted beyond recognition. Change is healthy, but not at the cost of diversity; standardizing player counts across every mode not only feels arbitrary but samey, especially when one is to factor in Trials of the Nine and Iron Banner.

A match of Survival in Trials plays out no differently than in standard Crucible. The same applies to Control in Iron Banner, and with Power Level now capped in both events, the only thing setting each apart from the other is their respective rewards.

If the changes were made with the intention of making Destiny 2's PvP more competitive, so be it, but that's not an excuse to omit existing options. If nothing else, restore the 6v6 playlists as an alternative, not a replacement, to what's currently available.
