10 Forgotten 90s Gaming Classics We Want To See Rebooted

6. Streets Of Rage 2 (1993)

If you ever owned a Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis, as you may have known it), you would most definitely have played this iconic side-scrolling beat'em up. Packaged along with Revenge Of Shinobi and Golden Axe, Streets Of Rage proved immensely popular with players, which is quite an achievement when you consider there was only a few select moves available at your disposal. And that is where the next-gen reboot could rectify things. By implementing a vastly improved number of moves at your disposal, and possibly including an interesting story to keep the events moving forward; a next-gen Streets Of Rage could revive an age old classic and introduce the likes of Axl and Eddie to the new generation of gamers unfortunate enough to miss out the first time. The reboot could keep the side scrolling gameplay, but perhaps give the graphics a bit of a 3D twist. The enemies could drop a number of different weapons which would bring even more variety to the fighting, and the popular police car power up could be re-invented as a COD style combo-streak, with the damage inflicted depending on the size of the combo. Perhaps the saddest aspect of this entry is that a remake was originally on the cards and was inexplicably cancelled, meaning this may be a pipe dream for many years to come.
