2. Ryota Hayami
Do you remember this cool cat? He was the the main character of Wave Race 64 and Blue Storm, a spunky young fellow and ambitious watercraft racer. Wave Race games are classic, and Nintendo has neglected the series, not having made a single Wave Race game since Blue Storm in 2001, over a decade ago. This is a simple series, but a fun one, being nothing more than straightforward racing games. Their most notable feature is probably their physics, which were seen as being quite advanced for the time. While the series doesnt specifically have a main character, Ryota Hayami is the one who more or less fills that role, being the most balanced character and the best for beginners. Much like Captain Falcon and F-Zero, Ryota and Wave Race dont really need a full on, major release. Wave Race would work equally well as a cheaper title, and seeing as how the games have only a few modes and tracks, their main replay value lies in multiplayer. Nintendo is fond of local multiplayer, so promoting this in these games wouldnt be a bad idea, although online multiplayer wouldnt hurt. Maybe they could just release a wacky bundle/crossover with Wave Race and F-Zero, and then throw in the original Uniracers as an unlockable. All of Nintendos forgotten racing games and characters in one!
