10 Forgotten Gaming Franchises That Must Return At E3 2015

9. Legacy Of Kain

Everyone played Soul Reaver, right? Crystal Dynamics' incredible mix of gothic architecture, vampiric lore and overblown Shakespearean dialogue made for one hell of a drinkable cocktail, and throughout the 90's (and especially the Kain-focussed spin-offs) gamers positively gorged on its phenomenally endearing splendour. Then the series just kind of... disappeared. It did see a quick resurgence in the form of Dead Sun, a pretty slick-looking iteration with some fantastic graphics and the signature switching of realms that makes for more environment-based puzzles. Originally planned as a PS4 launch title Square ended up cancelling it a ways into production as it was thought the series wouldn't be able to sell well enough. Considering the huge outcry from the fanbase following this, the reverence people have for pretty much every Legacy of Kain game and the fact the last iteration was the extremely random arena-shooter Nosgoth, E3 should mark the return of one of Crystal Dynamics' most beloved franchises. Plus, can you honestly say you'd rather see Rise of the Tomb Raider over a new Legacy Of Kain? Exactly.
