10 Forgotten Playstation Classics That Would Sell Millions

4. Syphon Filter

Channeling the spirit of James Bond, Syphon Filter pits Agency agent Gabriel Logan against several mysterious forces in several games that began on the PS One and ended on the Playstation 2/PSP. Despite maintaining steady popularity throughout its run due to its stealthy mechanics, exciting gameplay, selection of weapons and storytelling in a world of games where storytelling was just starting to grow, Syphon Filter somehow skipped the entirety of the PS3 generation. A few months ago, just before E3 2014, a rumour came out that a new Syphon Filter, entitled Kill Strain, was in development for PS4. Unfortunately nothing was shown at the event and the rumour appeared to be a dud, but several people express their excitement at seeing a new Gabe adventure release for Sony's newest console. The tools are all there; there's plenty of narrative goodness to choose from for a reboot/continuation, people like the originals and it's a third-person shooter hybrid/stealth game. A modern Syphon Filter, complete with branching paths where you form your own way through levels, upgradeable equipment and skills, the ability to call up Agency special equipment and a gripping, globe-trotting adventure with the polish of Uncharted would certainly do wonders for bringing this franchise back from the brink.
