10 Forgotten Video Game Franchises That Need to Make a Comeback

5. Bloody Roar

This popular fighting series started in 1997 and brought a unique take to the game genre. It allowed you to transform your character into a half-human, half-animal hybrid for short periods of time. By no means did it revolutionize the genre, but it was merely an offshoot from it that worked (just like Soul Calibur, a fighting game that allowed you to use weapons). It still kept the standard control scheme: two buttons designated for performing the kick and punch movies, one button for transforming your character into beast form, and another button used for blocking. The move system generally borrowed from both Tekken and Street Fighter. This involved using combo moves (like in Tekken) and moves that required players to roll the D-Pad (like in Street Fighter). Why it needs a comeback: Tekken, Soul Calibur and Street Fighter are still going strong. Street Fighter and Tekken also enjoyed a rather enjoyable cross-over game: why can't Bloody Roar enjoy the same success? It had a uniqueness about it, but still kept the same, familiar controls set down by its predecessors.
