10 Forgotten Video Game Franchises That Need to Make a Comeback

4. Gex

Gex

Gex was a wise-cracking Gecko who gained enough popularity to end up as the mascot for Crystal Dynamics for a good number of years. The games were criticized, however, due to their terrible camera angles and iffy jumping mechanics. This didn't stop Gex though: his popularity stemmed from his loveable nature and sarcastic charm. The games themselves were also filled to the brim with pop culture references. This was all due to Gex having an unhealthy obsession with TV, something which allowed him to break the fourth wall and communicate with the player. The games were mainly centered around the villain, Rez, who wanted to capture Gex in the media world and use him as a mascot. Don't ask. Why it needs a comeback: Grant Gex a complete control overhaul and camera scheme revamp and it might end up being kind of awesome, especially with all this new popular culture going 'round. Gex would be referencing these things like crazy in any new games, and you'd probably love it because face it, he's a cute gekko, and there's nothing more appealing than a gekko which spouts popular culture knowledge. Right?
