10 From Software Bosses EVERYONE Hated Fighting

3. Moonlight Butterfly - Dark Souls

The Moonlight Butterfly is perhaps the least intimidating looking boss in the SoulsBorne series. Yes it is a giant butterfly which is definitely a bit weird, but it has a certain serene quality to it that many bosses don't.

The boss spends most of the time in the air raining spells down on you, and occasionally taking a brief rest on the wall. The problem with this fight is more apparent if you've decided to entirely forego using magic. If that's the case, you'll spend most of the fight waiting for her to land so you can get in a few hits, which seems to be entirely random.

The random nature of boss' attack patterns in Soulsborne games is what keeps players on their toes, but in this instance it's more likely to keep you yawning. Sometimes you can beat her in just a couple of minutes, other times she'll take forever just because she refuses to land.

Her attacks aren't exactly friendly either, a mistimed roll could get you caught in one of her spell barrages, stun locking you to be caught by the next one, and the next one, and so on.

The worst kind of boss fight is a boring one, and unfortunately The Moonlight Butterfly belongs to that rare club.
