10 From Software Bosses EVERYONE Hated Fighting

2. Micolash, Host Of Nightmares - Bloodborne

FromSoftware love to play with players expectations when it comes to boss fights, and none are more evident of this than Micolash from Bloodborne.

After the cutscene where you're introduced to Micolash and his creepy head cage, you're flung in the arena to face...well, nothing. The boss' health bar is there, but Micolash is nowhere to be seen.

Cue a boss fight where the majority is made up of chasing the boss through corridors filled with eyes, like a Benny Hill sketch set in Silent Hill. Running after Micolash is annoying in itself, and when you do manage to corner him he doesn't put up much of a fight at first.

Other than the other enemies that pop up to distract you, it's not too difficult to deal some damage to him. This lulls you into a false sense of security, that is until you get him down to two-thirds of his health.

At this point the Host of the Nightmare decides to take you on, using the ridiculous A Call Beyond spell that sprouts Cthulu-like tentactles out of his arm and can easily one shot you if you don't dodge it. Then there's some more running. And some more. And if you're unlucky enough to die to him you have to start the entire thing over again, chase and all.
