10 Frustrating Mario Party Moments That Ruined Friendships
2. The Boo Bell
Earlier we talked about the Bowser Revolution, which takes everyone's coins and divides them evenly. That's pretty messed up, but at least it's random. You can't blame anyone but the game.
But then we have the Boo Bell. Debuting in Mario Party 2 after they apparently decided the first game didn't have enough betrayal, this is an item you can get during an Item Minigame that calls in Boo to do your bidding. And what does he do exactly?
Well, his only purpose is to steal from other players. You can steal someone's star for 50 coins, which costs way more than just getting it legally, but you're pretty much paying the extra money just to be a jerk. And then you can steal coins, which is totally free.
What's especially messed up here is that while there's no choice involved in the Bowser Revolution, here, you get to decide who to steal from. If you're ahead or you have the only star, the absolute dread that rushes over you when your friend (now sworn enemy) calls in Boo is hard to describe unless you've been there yourself, but it's like something straight out of a slasher movie.
Your friend may have gained a star with the boo bell, but he can pretty much guarantee he now has someone out to get him for the rest of the game.
