10 Game Mechanics They DESPERATELY Wanted You To Love (But You Didn’t)
7. Endless Radiant Quests - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Bethesda's Radiant A.I. system, introduced in Oblivion, has done a lot of good for their games, especially when it comes to generating hilarious, bizarre interactions. That said, the introduction of Radiant Quests in Skyrim gave every completionist a hernia.
Radiant Quests are procedurally generated side content that keep the game going, even long after you finish it. They can lead to plenty of fun random encounters. But, the whole thing becomes far more egregious when factions bombard you with a never-ending array of jobs. Said jobs are nothing more than dull "Go and steal this" or "Go and kill this person" quests that amount to nothing but busywork. They also can't be removed from your journal, which is painful for those who want to clear the entire thing.
You can see what Bethesda was thinking with this one. If you love a game, why not play it as long as possible? The thing is, diluting the game's quests down into repetitive and narratively unfulfilling content is borderline bonkers. Why would anyone want to keep playing these for hours on end with no payoff?
