10 GameCube Games We Need To See On Nintendo Switch
4. F-Zero GX
The N64 iteration of F-Zero is a bonafide classic. Cool characters, fast crafts, wild, gravity-fighting courses - it’s already lined up for a Nintendo Online release, and we’re looking forward to grooving to that soundtrack again to say the least.
The GameCube version’s a little less iconic, admittedly, but it’s a fantastic game nonetheless. Polished, smoother, sleeker - it didn’t add a great amount to the F-Zero brand from a substantive standpoint, but in every manner it was a step up from the previous game, a far smoother ride that’s imperative when you’re going at the speed a skillful pilot can attain.
The destructive races of F-Zero were made to be played online. On N64 and GameCube alike this was a riot to play with pals, jostling for pole position and knocking strips off each other’s crafts with rough racing.
Switch boasts a few games in a similar vein to the classic series, but nothing can beat the real deal. The zooming and drifting are all well and good, but without Captain Falcon and his alien pals, it’s just not the same.
