Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions is a 2010 action game that did Into The Spiderverse before Into The Spiderverse.

In the game, you play as four different Spider-Men, traveling across dimensions and fighting a wide range of Marvel characters, including everyone's favorite mercenary antihero—Deadpool.

Like his comic book counterpart, Shattered Dimensions' version of Deadpool is pretty self-aware about his fictional existence. Especially when you ignore his moment in the spotlight.

During the sequence when you have to fight Deadpool, if you decide to pause the game, the loud-mouthed mutant will talk to you through the pause menu, calling you lazy, cowardly, boring, and all sorts of other things, just because you wanted to take a little break from playing.

The whole thing is very much on brand for Deadpool, and it's quite reminiscent of the type of details you'd see in his own game from 2013.

Which is, coincidentally, another thing Shattered Dimensions did before it was cool.

If you had a nickel for every time this happened, you'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice.
