10 Games That Will Inevitably Disappoint Us All In 2013

9. Grand Theft Auto V

This is probably going to come as a shock to most, but I really do think that GTA V is going to bomb. Not in the sense that it's going to make bad sales but in the sense that people will be mixed about it rather than love it. The franchise has been around for a while now and by the looks of things it's going to be around for a while, nonetheless it just seems they're beating a dead horse now. Vice City was great fun, not because it had a good storyline of good graphics, but because you could lose yourself in it and just drive around the place, shoot people and perform all kinds of fun things. San Andreas merely gave you a bigger map to play around with and allowed you to do more things. GTA 4 though took things to the next level, not only was the map big but the physics made the game more of a work of art. No more could you just speed down a road and crash into all sorts of things without letting physics have an effect, gone were the rag-dolling pedestrians who would just disappear under your car with a quick scream ; it actually seemed more life-like. The problem was, they put too much stuff into the game. Sure the storyline wasn't that good, but you hardly expect a good story-line from Rockstar do you? That would be the same as expecting Square Enix to make a game without scantily clad women or guys with haircuts that defy at least 3 laws of physics. I never even completed GTA 4 but I still have around 70 hours clocked on it merely because I'm enjoying all the side-missions and just driving around causing mayhem. Sadly that's what's going to happen with GTA 5, people will ignore the main core of the game because Rockstar have put more effort into the trimmings albeit very good looking trimmings. That's what I don't get though, why are people so hyped up about the graphics? It's 2013, graphics shouldn't matter any more when it involves the major developers. Gone are the days of pixelated characters and poorly rendered landscapes, even indie developers are starts to up their graphic capabilities. It seems like I'm going to have more fun flying jets around the city and jumping from cars on the free-way than playing the game through to the end. Then again, what more do you expect from a GTA game?
