6. Dead Space
The space horror is a beloved little sub-genre. Few dare tread in its murky depths yet some of the best horror movies are set in space. Alien, Event Horizon, Pitch Black and even Starship Troopers (to an extent). All these films share a common feature; the unknown is scary as hell and being trapped somewhere dark is scary as hell. It's all you need for a shit pant cocktail and Dead Space certainly took advantage of that. It is so well suited to a film adaptation that it seems a rather obvious choice and I'm surprised this isn't already happening. Cronenburg. That's all I have to say on the matter. It has been a long time since we had a true body horror classic and no one does body horror like Cronenburg. The Necromorphs are about as mutilated as possible....I mean, killer babies...ew. Cronenburg would make us wanna throw chunks like it was the 80s again and I for one would welcome that with open arms and a bucket. As for Isaac, well I'd like to see Jake Gyllenhaal play a super unhinged character again if I'm honest.
