The Game You Wanted - WCW/NWO Revenge AKI Corporation€™s 1998 follow-up to the incredible WCW/NWO World Tour on the Nintendo 64. The Game You Played - WCW/NWO Thunder Inland Production's attempt to bring WCW to the Playstation. Was It A Worthy Substitute? Only if you're a masochist for really bad games. To be fair, the PlayStation played host to some pretty great WWF games, it's just that WCW fans weren't so lucky, as a flood of bad games featuring the brand would break the heart of PlayStation wrestling fans for years. Thunder's problem isn't its roster or presentation; the culprit is the controls. Unlike the genre-defining control scheme of the AKI games, Thunder utilized a more combo based system similar to 2D fighting games, which was painfully broken and made it difficult to enjoy the game in the simplest sense. For those fans that grew up fans of the WCW brand, Thunder was a worse kick in the pants than the company's horrendous booking.
