10 Games You're Embarrassed To Admit You Play

5. Ni No Kuni

Ni No KuniWhat People Will Say: You're five years old. Ni No Kuni is without question the best video game that I've played this year; it was an affecting, visually stunning, superbly constructed RPG from Level-5 that incorporated Studio Ghibli's movie aesthetic into the gaming world perfectly. However, to the layman, it's tantamount to getting out your onesie pjyamas and asking them to read you a bedtime story. I was recently playing the game and a few family members and friends came into the room, asking me what I was playing. I explained, but they had none of it; they took one look at it and asked, "Isn't that for children?", followed up by the supremely condescending, "Ah, it's like Pokemon. I used to play that when I was a kid". My attempts to explain that cartoons can be for adults didn't wash, and as a result I could tell that everyone in the room thought a little less of me, which is a shame, as it's an absolutely superb game whatever your age.
