10 Gaming DLCs That Surprised Everyone
1. Citadel - Mass Effect
As all Mass Effect fans know, literally no controversy has ever surrounded the series’ ending. Bioware ended the trilogy in a satisfying way, we all applauded, and the internet never mentioned it again. It was perfect. However, Bioware being the champs they are, decided to let Shepard have one last party with the crew we’d all spent three games falling in love with.
Revisionist history aside, whatever you thought of Mass Effect 3’s ending, there’s something to be said for Bioware providing closure to fans in a way that didn’t contradict their original vision. By setting the events of Citadel before the final mission, they managed to make fans feel heard and valued, while still sticking to their guns.
Citadel was, in many ways, the ending the trilogy deserved, and a fine farewell to a story that held a special place in a lot of hearts. At least, until we know if the upcoming Legendary Edition will make any changes.
