10 Gaming Franchises That Desperately Need A Reboot
7. Steel Battalion
Granted, Steel Battalion wasn't really anything that special even when it first came out. The only gimmick the game had was a crazy controller you HAD to purchase in order to play. If you did empty your wallet for this thing, you were met with a serviceable enough experience, but one that quickly garnered a dedicated following.
The game became lost in obscurity until Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor was released to some of the worst reviews of 2012.
The Xbox Kinect was still a relatively new addition to the Xbox 360 and - as we all remember through various fail compilations online - it was practically broken from front to back. The Kinect just couldn't read the player's movements properly, making the game completely unplayable.
However, with how far we've come with VR gaming, this could a good chance to bring the franchise back from the dead. Heavy Armor tried its best to simulate what it'd be like to pilot your own tanked-up robot and crew, but couldn't deliver on what was promised due to technological restrictions.
That might not be the case this time around. With virtual reality, you could actually be inside the cockpit - not to mention hand-tracking letting you pull down long-range cannons or punch the ejector seat button if everything goes wrong.
Let's not waste this opportunity.
