10 Gaming Franchises That Desperately Need A Reboot

6. Banjo-Kazooie

Banjo-Kazooie never got a fair chance in the new gaming generation.

This was hailed as some of the greatest platforming games of all time, with some even arguing it could rival Super Mario. The non-linear open worlds were way ahead of its time and the steady progression of learning new abilities to gather various items was inspired.

So, what the heck happened in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts? For some reason, this game not only wanted to move away from what made the franchise popular but also openly mocked it. This time round, gameplay revolved around vehicle construction, letting you roam around surprisingly empty levels with no new moves for the duo to learn.

For obvious reasons, fans did not care for this game very much, and Banjo-Kazooie never made another game.

The leaving legacy of Banjo-Kazooie should not be developers trying to distant themselves from what made them so great. These two deserve better, these two deserve what that first trailer promised so many years ago. After what's been done with the open-world concept, there's still a lot that can be done with a reboot.
