3. Unlock Luigi In Super Mario 64
Aside from Mario himself, undoubtedly one of the most famous characters in the game series is the emerald-clad Luigi. So when he neglected to show up in Super Mario 64 fans decided that there must be a way to unlock him. The statue in the castle's courtyard game players a glimmer of hope that their moustachioed friend could be hidden somewhere in the game. The statue's plaque read 'L is Real 2041', which led people to believe that getting 2041 coins would unlock Luigi, even though there were 2672 coins in the whole game. Others said that you needed to collect 120 stars without losing a life, but this also turned out to be false. Nintendo has never come out and stated what the plaque engraving means, although some believed it was a hint at Paper Mario's release date, which was also wrong. Whatever it means, it has nothing to do with Luigi sorry guys.
