3. Horrible PC Ports

As bad as recent game releases are for console players, those on PC aren’t doing much better thanks to a selection of truly atrocious ports.

Just recently, the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn, Hogwarts Legacy, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and The Last Of Us Part One have been disastrous experiences for anyone hoping to play their favourite console games on PC. In addition to an extensive list of visual glitches, recent PC ports have become defined by their unacceptable performance where jittery frame rates have rendered them unplayable.

The reason this has become the case is that console games aren’t typically made with PC versions in mind, with the port often being handed-off to a third-party developer. Designing a game to run on PC isn’t as straightforward as it is for consoles. Whereas every Xbox and PlayStation have identical hardware, PCs can vary wildly from one machine to the next, meaning that these ports will need to work on a variety of specs that they weren't intended to run on.

Unfortunately, there’s no quick fix for this issue other than giving developers time to better learn how to convert their console games to PC.
