10 Genius Video Game Easter Eggs You Need To See For Yourself
7. Fun Park - Command & Conquer: The Covert Operations
The first Command & Conquer game was tough. Very fun, but tough. Its expansion, The Covert Operations, intended to test the top brass with a collection of challenging missions.
Some of them were filled to the brim with dinosaurs.
Launching the game with the command-line argument “funpark” would treat the player to a five-mission mini-campaign in a park full of the creatures, notably from the Jurassic Period.
Obviously, this is a blatant parody of ‘Billy and the Cloneasaurus’.
Kane of the Brotherhood of Nod informs you in a new cutscene that he’s “been receiving strange reports on animal behaviour in the area." It's up to you to find out what’s going on.
Nod’s park rangers are armed to the teeth with high-tech weaponry and vehicles. The dinosaurs are pretty tough themselves; a couple of rocket launcher troops might be able to take down a T-Rex if they're lucky.
Most of the missions require you to go on a hunting expedition with a small squad. Others require you to find and repair destroyed base, then build up an army and wipe out all opposition.
The final one is unique, because you will get to control the animals as they attack a nearby Nod base before they go extinct (again).
Ever played a real-time strategy game that left you play as dinosaurs? Thought not.
