10 Genuinely Awesome Video Games Attached To TERRIBLE Movies

3. Robocop 3

Look, we all want to forget about Robocop 3. Being forced to watch this botched threequel is worse than being gunned down by ED-209. As a result, gamers weren't surprised to see the video game adaptation on the NES, SNES, Genesis, and other systems were just as poor.

However, Robocop 3 on the Amiga, PC, and Atari ST turned out better than anyone expected. The first-person shooting sections are surprisingly smooth, considering the FPS genre was in its infancy at the time. (Doom only came out the same year.)

Although Donkey Kong Country's visuals were blowing people's minds in 1994, Robocop 3 boasted polygonal graphics a whole year earlier. And unlike Donkey Kong, Robocop 3 had ACTUAL 3D graphics, not visuals that simulated 3D.

Even though the robot ninjas and the jetpack sequences were considered the dumbest part of the movie, these aspects work surprisingly well in the game. (The jetpack section is probably the funnest part.)

If you were worried Robocop 3 has aged like milk, you'll be glad to know that isn't the case. It may be a bit blocky and janky by today's standards, but it definitely holds up WAY better than the film.
