10 Glitches That Ruined Your Favourite Games

1. Disappearing Save Files on Arkham City

Arkham City is a helluva video game. Never have I felt so much like Batman than when gliding over a district of Gotham, with the ability to descend on groups of thugs to dispense good-old fashioned street justice; and all from safety of my couch. However, there was one very specific and completely experience-destroying glitch that affected many of the game€™s Xbox 360 and Steam players, including myself. One morning when I woke up (maybe it was early afternoon; I like my sleep) and made to continue my game the save file was€just gone. As though it itself was Batman. Batman would never do this to someone though, I€™m certain. This glitch was so mysterious that Warner Bros. Interactive themselves couldn€™t find the issue for months. They tried and tried to recreate the occurrence on their own systems but just couldn€™t. It€™s only recently that they€™ve pinned it down, meaning that fortunately, it€™ll probably be fixed in the next update. Still, I lost what felt at the time like everything. I€™d beaten the game twice (once on normal and once on hard) and was slowly working my way through the hundreds of Riddler trophies dotted throughout the game map. I was looking forward to hitting that 100%, just like I had for Arkham Asylum, if for nothing else, so I€™d know the Caped Crusader would be proud. I was obsessed. But I haven€™t played since, through fear this glitch will reoccur. So there you have it. You€™ll most likely have your own nightmare glitch tales and we€™d love to hear em. Because getting it off your chest is the first step to recovery€
